LPG is entering its off-season, but the May CP did not decline as much as expected due to the impact of U.S.-China trade tensions.
The tariff policies between the U.S. and China have increased demand for Middle Eastern LPG intended for resale to China—not only from China itself but also from other East Asian countries—thereby supporting the CP market.
In Saudi Arabia, domestic demand has risen due to increased consumption for local PDH plants, leading to a continued tightening of supply from the previous month.
On the other hand, the naphtha market has fallen for three consecutive months, and demand for butane for petrochemical use has remained sluggish.
The average WTI price in April dropped by about USD 5 per barrel compared to the March average.
Our company’s outlook for future CP trends is that, although domestic consumption for power generation may increase in some gas-producing countries with the arrival of peak summer, potentially affecting exports, we expect the June CP to decline slightly due to the ongoing off-season.
